David and Becky (aka "The Runners")

Y'all remember this couple from their engagement shoot last August. We have a little book from that session so that I can always reminisce about rolling up my pants and getting into the lake to get a shot. Well I almost got back into the lake yesterday...long story. So any way, I would just like to say that you would have to be the worst photog in the world to get a bad shot of these two.

Here is the beautiful bride. Nervous as all get out.

Here is the dashing groom. Hiding his nervousness pretty well.

A new look at Old St. Joes. You do realize that the sun has to be at the perfect angle in order for this shot to line up...I'm a pretty lucky guy...all the way around.

I did like this grooms shot. I'm addicted to lens flare. Maybe there is a ten step program.

Emotion rocks.

A few of the happy kissers.

Here's one of the happy best man.

The happy flowers.

Tables aren't typically happy, but this one is wearing one ear to ear.

Any cake from Bouche'e makes me happy!

Carving that delicious mound of sweetness.

Becky's brother is a top notch musician, and he wrote the first dance.

We had an awesome day with Becky and David, and we wish them all the best in Texas. David is going to need it. He is getting his PhD in Philosophy.

Aria and Peter

Mark had a fantastic time down in Appleton and Menasha with Peter and Aria last night. They started at their house and then headed to a park which I hope we get to shoot at again because it was so gorgeous. These two have great style, and we are so looking forward to their wedding coming up in a little over a month at the botanical gardens in Milwaukee.

Maggie and Chris

We were kind of worried about the rain yesterday since these two drove up from Milwaukee to do this shoot in door county at cave point. We held up at Stone Harbor for a few minutes while the storms passed, and then tore off the the lakeside. We had a great talk over coffee, and I learned a lot about air conditioning (that's what Chris does). Enjoy the images.

The Hallets

I don't do a lot of family sessions...it's not really my thing. There are are ton of awesome photogs out there who do it alot better and faster then I ever could. Saying that, I do like capturing moments of family interaction...it's pretty cool; and that brings me back to weddings. A wedding is famly interaction at it's height. Anyway, here are a couple of shots from my session with some good friends at Bayshore park.

p.s. The two older kids, whom I shot their senior pics, recently became proud owners of Macbooks. The flock is growing.

Seth and Amanda

Amanda and Seth--these two are just a lot of fun. They are very different, yet they complement each other quite well. We had a great time hanging out with them all day at Heritage Hill and later at Rock Garden. They are headed to one of our favorite cities as part of their honeymoon--Charleston, SC. Have a great time!

Here are some fun getting dressed details.

Amanda looking fabulous.

The guys wore linen suits. They looked awesome.

Amanda's Grandma was hilarious. We had a great time getting a lot of photos of her throughout the day.

Sandwich kiss!

Grandma again. Yes, she is blowing up a whoopie cushion. Amanda wanted her guests laughing so she had whoopie cushions as party favors. They were wrapped up quite elegantly actually. I would have never guessed what they were if I had not been clued in. I think it worked because there was a lot of laughter going on.

Amanda definitely has the creative flair. I was so impressed by all the cool details of the wedding. She made the flowers on her cake which were beautiful. Check out the slideshow to see some other great ideas. The placecards were paper flowers attached to wine corks. Very cool.

Sweet first dance.

Dirk and Laura

It's about darn time for me to write a post about my own photography...although Kell does do a much better job. What would be some words that I could come up with to describe this shoot...let's try a few: ejected, broken, wet. Let's go through these one by one.

This shot here was taken after we got EJECTED from the museum. Actually, it was all good. We got a lot of mixed messages from employees about shooting inside, and finally this head hauncho looking dude told me to pony up with 700 bucks or take it outside. We took it outside.

This was a nerdy shoot that Laura wanted. Who's the handsome guy with the camera?

Some hotness in the park.

When Laura went to change into her causal outfit, she kinda BROKE her sandal. So she was bare footin' it after that.

This is the WET part.

Wouldn't you know it...the best shot was from the ground. Soaked, got the shot, but soaked.

We had awesome time, and I hope you enjoy the show. Kelly will return to her normally scheduled blogging on Sunday.

Laura and Dirk's E-Session

p.s : For all you mac nuts out there, I stood in line for the phone yesterday...totally worth the wait.
